CONVEYORS

For production, receiving, shipping, or order picking, conveyor is an economical method of material handling. The flow of material is controlled and organized. With proper controls to maintain spacing, merge lanes, accumulate as necessary, incline or decline to maximize space utilization, and scan bar codes for identification and sortation, a conveyor system will improve productivity and throughput. Both gravity and powered units are available to complete your system requirements and Grafco will insure the integrity of the electrical and mechanical installation. Whichever type is used, permits are required by the Memphis Shelby County Building Code. Grafco will handle all phases of the code requirement from engineering design, to permitting, to final code inspection.

Transportation

Conveyor solutions from Grafco, Inc., storage and handling specialistsThe movement of material from point to point in a warehouse or production facility can be handled very efficiently with powered conveyor. Whether single cases or full pallet loads, there is a conveyor model to suit your requirement including live roller, belt on roller, slider bed and line shaft.

Accumulation

Conveyor (accumulation model) from Grafco Inc., Storage and Handling SpecialistsWhenever conveyed product needs to be scanned, weighed, labeled or processed in some method, carton spacing needs to be created to accommodate the control function. To create spaces between cartons it is also necessary to accumulate the upstream cartons and eliminate any line pressure. This is accomplished by using any one of several conveyor models depending on your specific requirements. With the advent of high-speed sortation, it is necessary to pick ahead of the sorter and have the orders staged for efficient, maximized throughput. This often requires many lanes of accumulation prior to the scanner/sorter. Without accumulation a conveyor system is less efficient and in many cases will not function.

Sortation

Conveyor sorter from Grafco, Inc., storage and handling specialistsThe orderly flow of orders from the stock location to the shipping dock can be enhanced with the application of conveyor sortation. Warehouse management systems, bar coding and effective order picking methods have greatly improved the capabilities of warehouse order movement. With the inclusion of sortation, orders can be sorted by customer, by destination, by method of shipment or any other critical data automatically. Sortation is completed at a much higher rate than if manually processed and the captured data can be uploaded to the host computer to complete manifesting, bills of lading, shipping labels and invoicing.

Order picking

Pick module from Grafco, Inc., storage and handling specialistsConveyor products greatly improve the efficiency and speed of the order picking process. By taking the product from the stock location on conveyor, the order picker travels less and increases the picks per hour rate. Orders can be batch picked or selectively picked, zone picked and merged, from carton flow rack, pallet flow rack, mezzanines or floor stock. The options are numerous and there is one to fit your specific requirement.
