PALLET
RACKS
For
the warehouse and manufacturing environment, pallet rack provides
increased throughput at lower costs with increased productivity.
Pallet rack is the most common way to organize a warehouse and accomplish
management goals No matter what your need or application, we can provide
the right material handling products. Efficient handling of material
increases the speed of getting to market and racking offers several
solutions to material handling requirements. Several styles of rack are
available to meet or exceed your targets. Whichever type is used,
Seismic Design is required by the Memphis Shelby County Building Code.
Grafco will handle all phases of the seismic requirement from engineering
design, to permitting, to final code inspection.
SELECTIVE
RACK
Selective
rack is the most popular type because it offers the highest
versatility, and quick identity and selectivity of any SKU. Single
deep storage is the most common used, whether single row or back to
back due to the high level of selectivity of the stored loads. Roll
formed uprights are predominantly used and the beam heights are
adjustable. A wide range of sizes and accessories are available. |
DRIVE-IN / DRIVE THRU
When
maximizing the storage cube is primary, and the individual
selectivity is not as important, Drive-in/Drive thru rack is a
serious consideration. Because aisles are eliminated you can store
up to 75% more pallets than you can with conventional selective
rack. This is a last-in/first-out inventory basis. With a Drive-In
rack the product is loaded and unloaded from the same aisle. If
first-in/first-out inventory control is important, then a Drive-Thru
or Live Pallet type would be more advantageous. |
CANTILEVER RACK
Especially
designed for storing longer, bulkier items with no aisle uprights to
obstruct the use of space, this rack type offers a practical
solution for hard to store items. It is frequently used for tubing,
piping, lumber and other long items. |
PALLET FLOW RACK
This
is a true first-in/first-out system with high-density storage.
Aisles are eliminated yielding double or triple the capacity of
Selective or Drive-In rack. Where Drive-In will have several voids
in the system to allow the lift truck to enter and retrieve, the
Pallet Flow can be 100% full and still offer availability of
product. The product is loaded in one aisle and unloaded in a
separate aisle. |
STRUCTURAL RACK
While
most pallet rack is manufactured as a roll-formed section,
structural rack is manufactured from hot-rolled structural
components. This rack offers a stronger cross-section to the frame
column and is therefore better suited to the high turnover, quick
moving warehouse environment where rack damage is a consideration.
In addition, this type rack is well suited for any location
requiring superior housekeeping and reduced dirt accumulation. |
